A Little Bit About Wikis

Some basic information on what a wiki is, where they came from, what kinds of wikis are out there, and some links to a variety of different examples of wikis. 

Using wikis as educational tools works very well to create an environment for collaborative learning.  In addition wikis can be seen to support the educational theories of constructivism and the newer theory of connectivism.  

Wikis are ideal tools to be used for collaboration and sharing of information.  These objectives can be accomplished by using either a coursewide wiki, or group wikis.  Here are some assignment ideas for each of these options.
