Export Course

Why?

The Export Course option downloads a .zip file of your course materials that can be uploaded or imported into another Blackboard course and reused.

Implications for Teaching and Learning.

When you export a course, a link to the package appears that you can download to your local computer. This is a great way to keep a copy of a course during the design phase or to create a backup of the course, should you need to restore the course at some point in the future. Once the system has created the package, you will receive an email telling you the process is complete.

Setting it Up.

From the Control Panel:

  1. Under Course Options select Export Course.

  2. If an archive already exists, you will see it and you can click on the link to download it. Click the link, and when the gray box pops up, click save and save to your desktop.

  3. If there is no archive, click the archive button, and then submit on the resulting page.

  4. You will receive a message that says: "This action has been successfully queued. An email will be sent when the process is complete."

  5. You have now created an export file.

  6. Click on the underlined text and then select save.

  7. Save the file to your computer and you may want to save to a thumb drive or other portable storage device.
