Disable or Enable the Visual Text Box Editor

What it is.

You have the ability to enable or disable the VTBE.

Implications for Teaching and Learning.

Sometimes you may not need to use the VTBE or you cannot use the VTBE because of the computer you are working from due to the browser or the operating system. Rather than spending valuable time  determining the cause, you may want to temporarily disable the VTBE. If you are working in HTML, it may be easier to disable the VTBE.

Setting it Up.

You may not wish to use the Visual Text Box Editor, if you are editing simple text or HTML. If this is the case, you need to make the Visual Text Box Editor unavailable in your User Settings. By disabling the Visual Text Box Editor, you will have limited formatting functionality when creating or editing resources within your unit site:

Be aware that this will limit the Text Box functionality for all your courses.
1. From the TWU Blackboard tab, Navigate to the Personal Information on the left-hand side of the page.

2. Click Set Visual Text Box Editor Options.

 3. Click Available to enable or Unavailable to disable, then click Submit.
