Course Availability

Why?

Students must be able to see the course to do the work. To see the course, the instructor must make the course available. Creating the course does not make the course available to students, one more simple step is required.

Implications for Teaching and Learning.

When a course is created it is unavailable to students. This allows you to make the course available to students only when the course is ready. You can tell at a glance if your course is available/unavailable by using the My Courses module. This module will show if a course is unavailable to students by placing the word unavailable will appear next to the title of the course. If you don't use the My Courses module, you can always check the availability of your course by following these steps.

Checking Course Availability.

1. Click on Control Panel.

2. Go to Course Options. Click on Settings.

3. Click on Course Availability.

4. Answer the question "Make this course available to users?" with Yes.

5. Click on Submit to finish.  Your course is now available.
